Philip Stein Announces Results from First US-based Clinical Trial Showing Improved Sleep Quality through Natural Frequency Technology

Study Responders Wearing Natural Frequency Technology Found in Philip Stein Watches Fell Asleep Faster, Stayed Asleep Longer and Felt More Refreshed in the Morning

Miami, Florida (October 22, 2009) - Philip Stein, the manufacturer of Philip Stein timepieces with frequency technology, announced the results from a clinical study designed to determine the beneficial effects of natural frequency technology incorporated in the company’s watches. The study reports that individuals who participated in the study, felt more refreshed in the morning, and experienced more vivid dreams in their sleep. In addition the participants fell asleep faster when wearing a device with the natural frequency technology found in the Philip Stein watch, but woke up less during the night, then those wearing a device without the natural frequency technology inside. The study was overseen by Dr. Michael Breus, PhD, a board certified sleep specialist and a noted authority on sleep and sleep issues. The announcement was made today by Will Stein, President of Philip Stein.

“Over time we received numerous testimonials from people wearing Philip Stein watches reporting about their positive experiences with regards to sleep. It was important for us to back up these anecdotal testimonials through a clinical study and to show the beneficial effects of natural frequency technology in our watches,” said Will Stein. “We engaged Dr. Breus to confirm what we’ve heard from our customers, that Philip Stein watches are an asset to people’s well-being and provide a natural alternative to improve sleep quality.”

Philip Stein commissioned NeuroTrials Research, an independent clinical trials organization, to conduct a Randomized, Double Blind, Placebo Controlled study. The subjects were both male and female, who were poor sleepers and have reported unrefreshing sleep for at least the past 3 months, and did not have a serious medical or psychological condition. Each of the study participants was given a device, at two different times, half of which contained the natural frequency technology found in the watches, half that did not. Study participants and researchers did not know who had on the active devices and who did not. Highlights of the results for people who responded to the natural frequency technology (96% showed some positive response on at least one of the following variables) include:

Feeling Refreshed: When subjects wore the device, which contains the same natural frequency technology found in the watches, only during the day, 43% of people who responded reported feeling refreshed in the morning vs. when they wore a device without the technology inside.

Time to Fall Asleep: When subjects wore the device, which contains the same natural frequency technology found in the watches, only during the day, 47% of people who responded reported falling asleep faster vs. when they wore a device without the technology inside.

Total Sleep Time: When subjects wore the device, which contains the same natural frequency technology found in the watches, only during the day, 39% of people who responded reported falling asleep faster and sleeping more minutes vs. when they wore a device without the technology inside.

Pleasant Dreams:When subjects wore the device, which contains the same natural frequency technology found in the watches, only during the day, 52% of people who responded reported dreaming was more pleasant that night vs. when they wore a device with no technology inside.

“I am excited to work with a company like Phillip Stein who is committed to learning more about the science behind their unique and effective technology, which has clear benefits for sleep and health,” said Dr. Breus.

Dr. Breus is a Clinical Psychologist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He was one of the youngest people to have passed the Board at age 31 and has a specialty in Clinical Sleep Disorders and Neuropsychological Testing. He is one of only 163 doctors in the world with his credentials and distinction. The study data is currently in the process of being submitted for peer-reviewed journal publication.

Philip Stein Embarks on First US-based Studies on the Beneficial Effects of Frequency Technology On Stress and Sleep

May 26th, 2009… Philip Stein, the leader in luxury products embedded with frequency technology and the manufacturer of Philip Stein timepieces, will embark this year on its first U.S.-based scientific studies on the beneficial effects of frequency technology, incorporated in the company’s luxury products. Philip Stein has commissioned two experts in their fields, Dr. Michael Breus and Dr. Beverly Rubik to conduct controlled trials on Philip Stein products in relation to two major health issues, sleep problems and stress, both prevalent worldwide. The announcement was made today by Will Stein, President of Philip Stein.

"We are thrilled to embark on our first U.S. based studies with Dr. Rubik and Dr. Breus, experts in subtle energies in health and sleep respectively,” said Will Stein. “We are confident that the results generated from the studies will confirm that Philip Stein is not only an asset to your wardrobe, but an investment to your well-being by offering wearers a better night’s sleep and the power to be more resilient to stress."

Philip Stein is partnering with sleep specialist Dr. Michael Breus to study the beneficial effects of frequency technology on sleep quality. Dr. Breus is a Clinical Psychologist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He was one of the youngest people to have passed the Board at age 31 and has a specialty in Clinical Sleep Disorders and Neuropsychological Testing. He is one of only 159 doctors in the world with his credentials and distinction. Dr. Breus will work with Neurotrials, an independent clinical trials organization conducting the study. The study is expected to begin in June, with potential results released in 2010.

"Sleep concerns are among the top health and wellness issues in the United States, which can affect all aspects of life from weight loss to job performance, " says Dr. Breus. "We are excited to learn how a natural frequency based option, like the technology in Philip Stein products, may affect sleep quality."

Dr. Beverly Rubik, a biophysicist, who earned her Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, is adjunct professor of Integrative Health Studies both at California Institute for Integral Studies and Saybrook Graduate School. She is an internationally recognized expert in subtle field interactions and has conducted NIH (US National Institutes of Health)-sponsored research in this area. Dr. Rubik will conduct a clinical study to measure the benefits on well being from wearing Philip Stein products including effects on resilience to stress, a prevailing issue, in part, due to today’s challenging economic climate. Preliminary results from a pilot study that she conducted earlier this year produced positive results, showing that the watch improves heart rate variability significantly, meaning increased adaptability and resilience to stress, and increased ability to cope with change. The clinical study results are expected in 2010.

"Frequency technology appears to be a new way to help people boost their wellness by simply wearing it on the body,” says Dr. Rubik. “When used appropriately, frequency technology could be key to helping people become more resilient and resistant to chronic stress in their daily lives, which affects 80% of Americans, and can cause numerous health issues such as anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, loss of sex drive, and is also an underlying factor in chronic disease."

Philip Stein has recently introduced its first Automatic timepiece with Swiss movement, its unique e-tailing program that includes profit sharing for local retailers from online sales and the opening of the company’s first store in the Americas.
